Marilyn's TWOcan joyfully coordinates with numerous senior living centers across the metro area to provide free bike rides for residents. Whether riders are fully ambulatory or confined to wheelchairs, all are able to enjoy the wind in their hair and sunshine on their faces as they are pedaled through parks and neighborhoods.
In just five years, this charitable service has MORE than doubled in size, from a two-trike operation to five specialized, Danish-made trikes (two of which allow two passengers to ride together). We gave 2,000 free rides in 2022.
At a time in life when their world is shrinking, Marilyn's TWOcan provides older adults a fun and freeing escape into fresh air and nature.
Marilyn's TWOcan is named for founder Kathy Haubrich's late mother, who lived with paralyzed legs (from polio) for 60 of her 80 years, and loved to ride. The Eden Prairie Community Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship to Marilyn's TWOcan.
When ONE can no longer ride, remember TWOcan!
