The purpose of the organization is to provide enjoyment and enrichment to the lives of individuals through the use of animal assisted activities. Volunteers take their special pets (all dogs complete the Canine Good Citizenship certification) to facilities throughout Houston County (health care, assisted living and independent living facilities) to socialize and be petted, creating a therapeutic atmosphere. In addition, the program's dog participants are used at area libraries as reading companions (Reading Education Assistance Dogs R.E.A.D.) to help improve children's reading skills.
