In the fallout of the recent riots and protests, there is an increased need for basic necessities among people living in South Minneapolis, including many of our clients. Neighborhood grocery and convenience stores have said they will not be ready to reopen until December, and many who live in the affected areas have unreliable or no transportation.
To help, Headway will be collecting items to distribute to our clients in need. Our staff members have reached out to clients to determine how many need help and what their specific needs are.
Staff will hand out donations the week of August 9. During the weeks of August 2 and 9 we will start collecting perishable food items to give out as well.
If you'd rather donate items than funds, we will happily accept those at our Richfield location. The list below includes the items specifically requested by families in South Minneapolis. Thank you for your generosity!
