Poetry for People: 10+ years of poetic public art

We are fiscally sponsored through Springboard for the Arts which means that your donation is held in an account there for us that we can access to make innovative poetic projects in Minneapolis. 

Our goal is to commission BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and radical emerging to established poets to create new work. We aim to pay artists generously as they offer their work to beloved community in compelling contexts. Our intention is to allow people to experience or connect with poetry in new ways that inspire them to dream into poetic possibilities for the world. We are nimble, small, and artist-driven with a goal of working with ease and following inspiration when it arises.

Transformative co-creation:

We strive to make projects in which the creators and recipients are transformed in the process of creation and/or in the sharing or receiving of the creations.

Cultivating pleasure:

We seek to create enchanting experiences where people fall in love with their surroundings, with language, with their lives or with each other. 

Multi-disciplinary collaborations:

We love working with artists of multiple disciplines, knowing that when multiple skill sets mix and merge, inspiration and possibilities grow.

Practicing the dreamy/visionary world we long for right now:

We believe it is important to practice liberatory ways of sharing space and realize that we have agency. We strive to remember that we have power in manifesting our dreams.
