Springboard for the Arts

A nonprofit organization

Give by November 21 to help Springboard create a mural in Fergus Falls!

For over a decade, Springboard’s Fergus Falls location has served as a hub for rural creativity. Now, we are partnering with the artists at Mural on the Wall to bring a new mural to our Fergus Falls building!

The mural will cover a two-story expanse of the historic Benson Building, which overlooks Fergus Falls’ beautiful new Spies Riverfront Pavilion. Thousands of families visiting the riverfront farmer’s market and splash pad will enjoy this new local landmark year-round.

Mural on the Wall (led by artists Reyna Hernandez, Amber Hansen, and Sonia Hernandez) is engaging a team of six local artists, including four youth apprentices, to bring local stories to the process, and learn how to design murals for future local projects. We are halfway through the community engagement process, which is bringing together members of the community to create a mural design that reflects their area’s rich history, identity, and natural beauty.

Your support helps us bring our first large-scale mural to downtown Fergus Falls and mentor the next generation of rural mural artists.

We’re aiming to raise the final $15,000 by Give to the Max Day, and we’re looking for 150 generous community members to pitch in! Every gift before or on Thursday, November 21 helps us reach our goal.

All gifts made on Thursday, November 21 will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win a free, custom "Artists are the G.O.A.T." bandana tie-dyed by Springboard staff members! We'll be giving away 5 free bandanas throughout the day.

This project is just one example of how artists bring meaning, joy, and connection into our lives. If this is work you value, please consider making a tax-deductible donation today to Springboard for the Arts. A gift of any size makes a difference.

Thank you for your support!

Founded in 1991, Springboard for the Arts works to support artists with the tools to make a living and a life and build just and equitable communities full of meaning, joy, and connection. We do this work from our two offices in Saint Paul and Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and nationally.

We believe artists are essential to our economies, neighborhoods and systems. We provide resources and opportunities for artists, help communities tap into the power of creativity and culture, and advocate for systems change to help communities thrive. In just the past year, we paid over $1.1 million directly to artists through guaranteed income payments, micro-grants, fellowships, artist project fees, and more.
