Springboard for the Arts

Founded in 1991, Springboard for the Arts is a national artist-centered community and economic development organization. From our offices in Saint Paul and Fergus Falls, Minnesota, we work to support artists with the tools to make a living and a life, and to build just and equitable communities full of meaning, joy, and connection.

Thanks to our community of supporters, Springboard is a place where artists can find the resources they need to make a real difference in their communities. 

Last year alone, Springboard served over 30,000 artists across Minnesota through programs like one-on-one career consultations and business skills workshops that help artists worry less about making ends meet, and focus more on bringing creativity and connection to their communities. We've trained hundreds of artists across Minnesota in using their creativity to address real, local issues like building climate resilience, combatting social isolation, and generating neighborhood safety.

With support from community members like you, we’re launching bold programs—including the country’s longest-running guaranteed income pilot for artists and Minnesota’s first statewide Artists Emergency Relief Fund Network—that create the safety net artists need to exhale, dream big, and create the work our communities need.
