Heather & Jon's 2024 Give to the Max Day for NDLB!

Jon and I have been fostering with No Dog Left Behind Rescue since July 2020 and since that time have saved more than 40 dogs from less than desirable conditions.  This year we've had less fosters than ever before, but have still made a meaningful impact.  We started the year helping some temporary fosters, Reese the Pomeranian, Willie Wonka the Chihuahua mix and Gotham the Aussie Doodle.  We took Blossom the young Chihuahua mix in from Tijuana, Mexico in March.  She had one of the worst cases of mange I've ever seen as well as intestinal parasites and a tick borne disease.  Despite all of her medical concerns, she was still the sweetest and silliest girl and found the perfect home.  In June, we brought home Wookie.  Wookie is a 7 year a old Miniature Poodle who was rescued from commercial breeding in August of 2023.  Since arriving in rescue, the poor little guy has been adopted and returned 3 times due to his shy and fearful personality.  He came to us, since I'm also a dog trainer, hoping we could help him.  He's thrived with the opportunity to be who he is and has developed great confidence following the routine of our three resident dogs.  He has completed shy dog class and is a pretty smart and spicy guy, typical of his breed.  He's still in search of his forever family, but welcome here as long as that takes.
