No Dog Left Behind

2024 has been a busy time for all rescues, No Dog Left Behind included.  We saw catastrophic weather events across the country, the most recent of which were the hurricanes affecting the southern, east coast.  No Dog Left Behind stepped up to take in dogs from affected shelters, freeing up space for displaced animals due to the hurricanes, giving more of a chance at reunification with their families.

In addition to assisting during emergencies, every day No Dog Left Behind is asked to take in dogs from commercial breeding, reservations, shelters, hoarding houses, and more. On top of that, we have also rescued cats and rabbits from inhumane living situations. 

With this increase in animals passing through our rescue comes increased costs for supplies, transportation, and medical care. Our dogs are placed in foster homes, the stepping stone to their "furever" family.  During this time all receive: a full veterinary exam, de-wormer, up to date vaccines, spay or neuter, micro-chip, and heart-worm and flea/tick preventative.  Additionally, many require further care, such as: heartworm and parvo treatments, dental extractions, amputations, eye surgery and repairs, etc. These expenses top $300k or more each year to ensure the health and well being of our rescued animals.

All funds raised from this event go directly to help the animals in our care, allowing us to say "Yes" to as many of the difficult medical cases that we are asked to take in every single day.

Although the need is never-ending, and we feel overwhelmed at times, No Dog Left Behind has also enjoyed much success this year! In October alone we found 79 animals their "furever" homes, totaling 648 so far in 2024!

No Dog Left Behind is a 501(c)(3) non-profit canine rescue based in the Twin Cities area, serving communities all across Minnesota.  We are a no-kill, foster-based rescue, working to save abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs.  

Beginning in 2011, No Dog Left Behind is 99% volunteer-based and, outside of adoption fees which only cover some of the costs associated with each dog, we rely heavily on donations to operate and grow our rescue.
