Meet Rocky! He's a three-year-old Cattle Dog mix who's immediately best friends with everyone he meets. He loves to run straight up to you for scratches and pets and gives many kisses in return.

This sweet boy is one of many heartworm-positive pups we see here at the shelter. Heartworms are a parasitic infection of worms that live in the heart and major blood vessels of  dog. These parasites are transmitted through mosquito bites. This condition is extremely dangerous and requires treatment from our vet staff to save the lives of infected dogs. The care involved to treat a heartworm positive dog can become quite costly, but we are committed to providing all animals in our care with the best chance at success. Help us support our current and future heartworm positive dogs by donating to this fundraiser!
