As we enter our 14th year of competing in First Robotics we are again looking to all of those wonderful people that have supported us in our past. While we did not qualify for the World Championships in Houston, we did have a successful season. At our first regional we won the Innovation in Control Award for the amazing work that our programming team did on our Autonomous Programming. And at the Colorado Regional in Denver we finished in Third Place on an alliance with our friends from Esko.
We are currently working hard to design and build our robot for this upcoming competition season. We have almost finalized our design and have built our frame for our robot. We have made the switch to a new swerve drive for this year that will help us to be faster and more maneuverable and it is also lighter which will be extremely helpful as they decreased the weight that our robot can be from 125 pounds to 115 pounds. Our programmers are hard at work learning how to make them make our robot move around the field and they are also hard at work creating auto routes for the beginning of the match.
While much of our team has been hard at work building our robot, another group has been hard at work raising money for the team to function. And while they have been hard at work their efforts have not been as successful as we had hoped. We are currently behind on our fund raising goals. We have been busy writing grants, visiting businesses and planning for our silent auction, but we have come here again to ask your support for this season. We feel we have a great robot design that we are excited to see compete, but where we stand currently we are not sure if we will be able to travel to LaCrosse to compete in our second regional. And with the change in how teams qualify for the World Championships in Houston and how they qualify for the MN State Robotics Tournament a second regional is even more vital to our team as both are counted towards your qualifying points. So please consider making a donation to our team so we can show off our amazing robot.
Thank you all for your previous support and thank you for considering to support us again this year.
