From Tokyo to Brooklyn: A Jagged Journey
Your support and belief in "From Tokyo to Brooklyn" (FTTB) has made incredible things happen.

In 2024 we presented a Work-in-Progress at Rosy Simas Danse, showcasing some brave new vocal choreography, fabulous dancers and puppeteers, and an installation by Lelis Brito.

In addition to our work on FTTB, we had the opportunity to present a remixed version of “All Hail the Queen” at this year’s Northrop Open House (click here to view pictures taken by audience members).
In light of our generative residency at Rosy Simas Danse, we are asking for $5,000 as we enter the final phases of creative development for FTTB!
FINAL CAMPAIGN GOAL: $5,000
Every donation, no matter how small is appreciated.
It all makes a difference! Thank you!
All donations are tax-deductible.
FROM TOKYO TO BROOKLYN:
"As the world has turned upside down, I'm turning myself inside out and returning to Tokyo for the first 6 years of my life. That's when I moved from Tokyo, Japan to Brooklyn, New York never to speak Japanese--or see my grandparents again.
My Japanese-American identity has inspired me to examine the impact that culture has on our bodies, movement, and patterns and how that swirling alchemy of physical and social cultures influences the ways we move through our world.
My choreographic project, From Tokyo to Brooklyn: A Jagged Journey (FTTB), emerges from my own complicated cultural background. The intention is to create processes to unearth our internal histories, create evocative choreography and encourage embodied dialogue among us."
