Rockford's area history is rich and full of stories that need to compiled, shared and remembered. The Ames-Florida-Stork House Museum does a wonderful job of capturing the history of those three families. The RAHS is raising funds to provide a space for the community to gather, learn and share the broader history of our area. We will share a deeper knowledge of the area farmers that drove much of the early economic success of our area. Highlighting the business owners that thrived from the 1880's through the 1960's. Did you know a Rockford resident appeared in a Laurel and Hardy movie? Or that a Rockford barber produced and performed a live radio show in the the 1920's? These and many more pieces of our history will be showcased in this new facility that will be fully ADA accessible. Donate today to help us achieve our goal of having this open to the public by 2025.
