Thank you for contributing to the VIP Author Advance Fund!

$10,000 goal

Hello,

We are Vermillion Ink Press (VIP), a new BIPOC owned and operated literary publisher based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A gift from you today will help launch a press whose staff is determined to change the way literary publishing navigates representation and sustainability.

In the near future, VIP will be releasing one original work each of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. But we can’t do this without your help! All donations given to this campaign will help us pay the advance fees for our first season of authors.

Fair advances for artists’ work and investment in the expertise of a staff whose experiences align with those of the authors they’re publishing is an important and vital step forward within a consistently homogenous industry and a step toward a future where literature better reflects the lived experiences of all people.

Donations of any amount help us take this step forward and achieve our mission of showcasing incredible work by authors and artists from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and underrepresented communities.

As a contributor to VIP, you make vibrant, inspiring, community-supported literature, media, and events possible...thank you!

About Vermillion Ink Press:

Proudly BIPOC owned and operated, Vermillion Ink Press is a literary multimedia collective and independent book publisher of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry from underrepresented voices. We seek to increase empathy, foster discussion, and cultivate community through the power of the written word.

Vermillion Ink Press is staffed by a group of young editors and creatives determined to change the way literary publishing navigates representation (in its titles and leadership) and sustainability. All of our editors have experience working at well recognized independent publishers and draw from their experiences to inform meaningful change in the operation of VIP. We are actively working to offset the lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the publishing industry and beyond.

Vermillion Ink Press is a fiscally sponsored project of Springboard for the Arts. To give to Springboard: https://givemn.org/organization/Springboard-For-The-Arts.
