We are a group of students from the University of St. Thomas, partnering with Catholic Charities this semester to raise money for needed services to help the elderly. Catholic Charities helps to serve older adults experiencing poverty within their ADS programs. Older adults are becoming one of the largest and most vulnerable populations in Minnesota. Catholic Charities ADS programs serve over 5,000 elderly people every year. They offer housing stabilization services to help elderly people stay in their homes and away from homelessness. Older adults are 65+ years of age and by 2030 it is projected that 1 in 5 Minnesotans will be considered older adults. The funds raised this semester will go directly to Catholic Charities, where they will be used to serve older adults.
