Helping out any dog with major medical concerns

$195

raised by 4 people

$1,000 goal

Please help me give back to the amazing organization of No Dog Left Behind. They stand behind their name. They help out those that others won't due to whatever reason.

Since 2020, I have had multiple medical concerns fosters.

Buddy - a purebred Black Lab who stopped walking at 4wks of age. Breeders finally released him to rescue at 5.5MONTHS old. We ended up amputating his rear right leg as there was no muscle mass and would not bend at all. His rear left leg does not bend when he is sitting or laying down, but he will use it to walk - AND RUN! He loves everyone he meets. He is still looking for his forever home.

Bram - a great Pyrenees who was found at an abandoned coal mine weighing only 60lbs. He also has heartworms - a deadly parasite that lives inside the heart. It's a 3 month treatment battle where he needs to stay calm and quiet the whole time. He is currently weighing 73lbs and will be available near December for his forever home.

Kennedy - a German Shepherd mix who was found weighing only 19lbs. He was thought to not have made it, but did pull through and actually weighed up to 50lbs when he was adopted.

Buddy/Kirby - a yellow lab mix who had a fractured front right leg and rear left leg. Yup - opposite legs. He was on a strict kennel rest for a month to let both legs heal. After a month, both legs had healed with no concerns. He has found his forever home.

Asia - a cocker spaniel mix who came from Kentucky but was then mauled by another dog and almost didn't make it. She ended up with 3 drains in her neck and being very cautious of those around her. She also had heartworms, so had to go through a 3-month treatment as well. However, we couldn't start that treatment until her neck was fully healed. She found her forever.

Lio - a black lab puppy who was found on a reservation with an injured front leg. We ended up having to put it in a splint for a month to correct the fracture. He found his forever home.

The trio of amputee puppies - Amanda (german shepherd mix), Batman (black lab mix), and Grandpa (terrier mix). All three were found on a reservation near roads. Grandpa was actually so weak and lethargic, the finders thought he was an old dog - when in reality, he was a 4 month old puppy! Both Batman and Grandpa had rear leg amputations while Amanda had a front leg.

So please, help me in returning the favor for saving these dogs that others wouldn't or couldn't. Our medical needs have increased with others in need, just like the ones above.
