Bridge to Basics supports schools with essential personal care and household hygiene items. You can be a part of that support!
How they support:
- Schools identify the items that their students need to be their best self at school
- Items range from diapers to body, hair & oral care items to laundry detergent and toilet paper
- Products are distributed discretely to the student or their families, hygiene closets and school events providing resources
Who they support:
- Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) Project REACH & Fostering Connections - these two programs support unhoused district students and their families, as well as out-of-home students, to keep them connected and attending school.
- SoWashCoCARES - School District 833 foundation that supports students, families, educators and school staff with everything from diapers through ECFE programming to personal hygiene essentials available at school
- EXPO Elementary - SPPS elementary school that offers a monthly food in a box event where they provide hygiene items ranging from toilet paper, laundry detergent to oral, body and hair care items.
- Kenwood Elementary - Minneapolis Public School that provides hygiene items through programming, requests and dignity shares to students and their families
A school social worker says it best about the role hygiene plays in a student's social, emotional and academic learning experience.
Thanks to Bridge to Basics, our educators can focus on doing what they do best -- educate, engage and inspire our kids.
