The Twin Cities has a hygiene gap. We bridge that gap to support more basic needs.

Bridge to Basics provides essential personal care hygiene products to struggling individuals and families. We function like a food bank, but instead of food, we provide the 13 essential and most requested personal hygiene products free of charge to a network of nonprofits to support their efforts. Our nonprofit partners -- from schools to food shelves, health clinics, housing providers and more -- distribute these items to those they serve in ways that promote choice and preserve dignity.

Bridge to Basics was founded with the belief that hygiene is a basic need and should be recognized, valued and supported as such. No other Minnesota nonprofit is uniquely focused on hygiene insecurity, yet many nonprofits stretch thin budgets and resources to try to address the issue because they get requests, understand hygiene’s value and know that support is limited. For struggling low-income families, there are very few resources available to secure hygiene products and they cannot use SNAP, WIC or federal program dollars to buy these items. Bridge to Basics was launched to address this unmet need in our community.
