Help Feed Hungry People Delicious Vegan Meals

Every $5 you give helps a hungry person eat. Every low carbon plant-based meal we serve helps our climate and spares animal lives . Together, we can create a world where humans and farmed animals can live sustainably.

Jesse and Nicola, Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA) volunteers, told us in January 2023 that Simpson Housing services needed groups to cook and serve meals for unhoused people in Minneapolis. 

They wanted to see if CAA could pull together volunteers and funding to do so.

Our staff and board hadn't budgeted for this, but Jesse and Nicola volunteered to do a lot of the work. It seemed like a amazing opportunity to put our vision into action--creating a world where all animals, human and non-human, can thrive.

So our staff and board said yes, counting on our community to come through and make it happen.

Volunteers have come out of the woodwork, filling every cooking and serving spot we have available. Guests appreciate the food and ask for seconds.

We need your help to pay for the food guests are enjoying.

Ingredients for each meal cost $5 per person. At lunch we serve twenty-five guests. At dinner we serve forty. We also pay a staff person $20 per meal to let volunteers know about the opportunity to help out.

The program has been so popular with guests and volunteers that we're expanding it to two lunches a month in 2025.

Any amount we go over will go towards additional dinners or continuing the program into 2025. 

Our board is so supportive of this effort that each of them has contributed. 

Recurring monthly gifts will help the program continue for years to come.
