St Paul Neighborhood Network

A nonprofit organization

Empower. Inspire. Connect.

SPNN is a place where job seekers, creative minds, and avid learners find resources and a voice. In this age of misinformation and disinformation, learning media and media literacy skills is more critical then ever before. As more of our jobs have online components or need digital skills, having safe spaces where you can go to learn those skills is a necessity. In a media landscape that is increasingly made up of sound bites, it is imperative that we have space for longform discussions and forums around community issues.

SPNN is a community media and technology center that has an open drop in space for anyone in the community to learn media skills and access the necessary equipment. We also have intentional programming for under-served communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities, to learn media skills in supportive cohort programs- we have youth and adult programs for beginner to emerging. SPNN partners with nonprofits and community organizations to share information about community events and issues, including partnering with the League of Women Voters of Saint Paul on election forums. SPNN has an AmeriCorps program that has members serving in different local nonprofits, libraries, and adult basic education sites to teach digital literacy skills.

Supporting SPNN is an investment in the fabric of our community. Below are the tangible differences your support can make:

  1. $40 Gives one youth access to a half day PSA camp
  2. $80 provides food for our crew for a studio production- like the SPNN Forum or a League of Women Voters election forum
  3. $120 provides a membership, classes, and access to SPNN resources for one year.
  4. $240 buys an audio recorder so a youth can record their podcast
  5. $480 covers the production on an episode of the SPNN Forum
  6. $800 provides a group of 30 youth a tour of SPNN with hands-on activities.
  7. $1200 provides a housing or transportation stipend for a CTEP member for the year.

Embrace the power of community with us. Your support affirms our collective commitment to nurturing, educating, and uplifting our community. Together, let's ensure that everyone has access to the tools and knowledge to create meaningful media, to learn the necessary job skills in today's digital world, and has access to information about their local community. Join us and be a part of a movement that enriches lives and strengthens the very bonds of our community.
