Trail Guards, founded in 1992, has a mission of enhancing the lives of youth through outdoor adventure, stewardship, personal challenge, community service and other opportunities as outlined on our website www.trailguards.org.
The Trail Guards has developed and maintains a 12-acre nature park on city-owned land along the Crow River on the north edge of the city limits of Paynesville. Participating youth earn attendance points towards our Outdoor Adventure Rewards, all provided at no cost with funds raised privately through our nonprofit organization.
We have also privately raised all the funds for building our park, including restrooms, picnic shelter, stairway, footbridge, information kiosk, bell tower, and more. We are a great model of community cooperation and involvement.
