826 MSP's Next Chapter Fund

826 MSP is looking ahead to our next chapter! Donate between now and our network’s favorite holiday, 826 Day (August 26) to help us meet our goal of $10,000!

We have exciting news to announce! 826 MSP has found our next innovative leader to guide our organization into the future… Dr. Jamal Adam will take over as Executive Director on July 1! He will be advancing the goals of our new strategic plan, and continuing and extending the vital work of our outgoing Executive Director, Samantha Sencer-Mura. Support this campaign to honor Sam’s 5 years of work and service to our community of young writers, to welcome Jamal, and to show your support for our organization during this time of change.  

No one can deny that the last few years have been immensely challenging; the twin pandemics of Covid-19 and system racism have forced us to reimagine and recommit to our work with young people time and time again. Through a lot of instability and trauma, 826 MSP has remained a consistent and stable support for the next generation of Twin Cities writers. We’ve fostered supportive spaces where youth can develop creatively, academically, and build relationships with caring adults, peers, and representative teaching artists. Though the challenges of this time are not over, we look to the 22-23 school year and this new phase of organizational leadership with excitement, joy, and most importantly, hope.
