Rawdatul Muhibbeen (RM) seeks to empower Muslim female youth of African descent in the Twin Cities by addressing social isolation and identity conflicts that often lead to low self-esteem and risky behaviors. Our project focuses on capacity building and implementing programs designed to provide a supportive and culturally relevant environment for growth. This initiative is critical for our community as it aims to bridge the gap between cultural preservation and integration into broader society, ensuring that Muslim girls can thrive without compromising their values.
We provide bi-monthly programs targeting girls aged 7-18, offering a variety of activities that promote physical health, financial literacy, leadership development, and social-emotional learning. These activities are designed to create safe spaces where Muslim girls can interact with peers who share similar backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and community. By engaging in these programs, participants will develop essential life skills, build self-confidence, and strengthen their cultural identity.
Our capacity-building efforts will involve procuring necessary resources and supplies, developing participant and community relationships, and ensuring effective program management. Implementation will deliver free, high-quality programs, removing financial barriers.
Through partnerships with local mosques, schools, and community organizations, RM will ensure broad engagement and support, enhancing the project's impact. The anticipated outcomes include increased self-esteem, stronger community ties, and improved life skills, ultimately preparing these young women to be positive, active members of society.
