Vergas EDA/HRA

We as an EDA/HRA have been working together with the City of Vergas and other local organizations to help benefit our community through legislation and enacting policies and benefit packages to both existing businesses and future prospective businesses. As an EDA/HRA we have developed a tax abatement program, waving water and sewer access charges, and have enacted certain building permit fee exemptions. 

We have some upcoming projects that we are working on to be able to help us all. We are looking at some lot developments, working vigilantly on getting more retail businesses to benefit us all.   

The EDA/HRA is funded through the City of Vergas tax levy, income from a donated lot we sold, interest income and donations. The EDA/HRA was formed in 2015 through a joint effort with the city to help promote some organized growth and prosperity within the City of Vergas. The first initial income to the EDA/HRA was a city lot that was donated to us and we were able to sell the lot to get the EDA/HRA up and running. We are asking you and anyone locally for a small donation even as little as $20 that will help us continue to help Vergas and its businesses and citizens.
