In a time when everything seems broken, you want to feel whole. You want to be the person who helps even just one person through this. Now is your chance.
Teachers are tired right now. They are being asked to do so many things, and they have so much love and care for their students.
Together we can make their lives just a little easier by providing them with lessons that will encourage their students to be the change they want to see in the world.
For 30 years, VocalEssence WITNESS has inspired more than 150,000 students by shining a spotlight on African American changemakers. This season, the program will ask students the question, Will You Be a Witness? As the students explore the music of social change they will learn how it can be a source for healing and justice.
NEW! This season, we will make the VocalEssence WITNESS School program completely FREE to schools. Our teaching artists have created videos for schools to use, and we are putting all of our curriculum and performances online to fit teacher's needs – whether distant, hybrid, or in-person.
It takes $125,000 to create & sustain the VocalEssence WITNESS School Program online. Thanks to generous grants from the Carlson Family Foundation, Xcel Energy Foundation, the Target Foundation, and the Katherine B. Andersen Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation, $70,000 has already been committed toward the $125,000 goal.
It will take just $55,000 more to ensure the WITNESS program is free for all teachers this year. Just $55 provides curriculum for one classroom. How many classrooms do you choose?
When you make a contribution today you will be supporting amazing teachers like Siri. Thank you for supporting Siri as she inspires the next generation of music lovers. Thank you for being the change our community needs!
