Hello friends and family!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising campaign page. I hope you will join me in supporting this vibrant arts organization and, in turn, help to make our community a strong one for years to come.
For 36 years, the Commonweal has been offering high quality, professional, live theatre to a local community of less than 800 and a larger community numbering in the thousands. The reason the company has been so successful in that venture is because of a group of dedicated artists choosing to make their home in Lanesboro and their livelihood at the Commonweal, (including Cody and me who bought our first house in Lanesboro this fall!) Currently, there are 16 members of the professional resident ensemble who function both as performers in five seasonal plays while also fulfilling administrative duties to operate the company on a daily basis. This is a rare model of operation among theatre companies and the Commonweal is one of the most successful examples of that model and would not function without it. Your donation to Give to the Max this year will help sustain that ensemble of artists now and into the future.
Below is a note from Hal Cropp, Producing Artistic Director of the Commonweal, who has been an artist with the company since 1992. Thank you for supporting our cause!
The Commonweal Theatre belongs to you. Our success is defined by the ways in which we are actively serving and connecting with our community. In the current climate, it means helping people simply feel better by relieving stress and anxiety through our storytelling. It means a full company of professional artists being able to reconnect with you in bringing to life the stories that will uplift, challenge, and inspire the entire family for years to come.
Any amount you give today is vitally important and will go a long way toward ensuring that we are here to serve you in the years to come. We care deeply about the people who make our work possible, and your donation will be put to use ensuring that the Commonweal itself can continue its mission in the years ahead.
Thank you,
Hal Cropp, Producing Artistic Director
