In times like these, hope isn’t just a word—it’s a commitment.

I’ve been processing a lot lately, unsure what to say—or even if I should. But words matter. And some of the words being spoken right now make me deeply afraid—not just for myself, but for friends, family, and others whose identities and experiences have been singled out by hateful, fear-driven, and violent rhetoric.

Recently, I spent time at the hospital with my dad (pictured above with his grandkids) as he recovered from triple bypass surgery. Being there had me thinking a lot about hearts—both literally and metaphorically. Watching him smile for the first time post-surgery, I felt so much gratitude. Grateful for his physical heart, mended by the hands of skilled doctors so we can share more years together. But also grateful for his figurative heart—the one that’s weathered heartbreak, that has chosen love and family over political allegiance, that raised me to hold space for hope even when the world feels heavy and uncertain.

This year, at AmazeWorks, we are holding onto hope—fierce hope—for a world where every single person is seen, heard, and valued. Our hearts are both broken and open, envisioning a future where every voice matters and every person belongs.

If you know me, you know I’m a hugger—the kind of hugger who lingers. When I hug you, I want you to feel how much I care about you. For me, it’s a way of signaling belonging. So, to all of you near and far: supporting AmazeWorks, this small but mighty organization I pour my heart into, would feel like a hug to me—a sign that you, too, are fiercely hoping with us.

And when I see you next and my hug lingers just a little longer, know that it’s my gratitude pouring out. Gratitude for your belief in this work and for imagining with me a future where all hearts are strong enough to make space for everyone to belong.

Thank you for your support,
Jenni ❤
