The Ole Jevning log home, built in 1876, has been on the Museum grounds since 1976. The concrete slab it is on is sinking and breaking and the home is tilting. In the summer of 2023 a new foundation was poured for it with existing funds, at a cost of $10,700.
Our immediate need is for $10,000 to move it onto the new foundation. We have a goal of $25,000 to include new roofing, chinking, window repair, and other necessary preservation and repair items. As always, much labor for Polk County Historical Society projects is volunteer.
Your help to preserve this 148 year old home will ensure future generations can also enjoy it.
