Thanksgiving Dinner 2024

It’s hard to believe, but this year marks 11 years of sharing Thanksgiving dinners with our community! At Good Works Food Shelf, we’re grateful for the chance to help our neighbors through another holiday season. For over a decade, we’ve been able to provide families with healthy foods, fresh produce, and household essentials to make things a little easier. And, of course, one of our favorite traditions is giving out Thanksgiving Dinner baskets to families who need them.

We’ve heard so many heartwarming stories from the families we’ve helped. One that stood out came from Maria, a mother of five. "I always worry about how I’m going to make Thanksgiving happen for my kids," she shared. "Last year, when we got the basket from Good Works, I was able to cook a full meal for my whole family. The kids were so excited to help me in the kitchen, and we all sat down and ate together.  It wasn’t just about the food; it gave us a chance to have a real family moment that we’ll never forget."

This year, we’re continuing that tradition by distributing 200 Thanksgiving dinner baskets on Friday, November 22.  Each basket will have all the fixings for a Thanksgiving feast—turkey, vegetables, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and dessert. But as always, we need your help.

Food is more expensive, and we’re serving more families than ever. For just $40 or $60, you can sponsor a Thanksgiving dinner for a family. Your kindness will help bring families together around the table this holiday season.
