Seward Montessori School: Support our School

Greetings Seward Friends and Families! 

This year we are seeking $15,000 to support our school. All funds raised will go towards the following efforts:

Supporting our school community 

• Extra school supplies for students and teachers in need
• Winter gear for kids
• Grocery gift cards for food over breaks and holidays to keep our community fed
• Taxi credits for emergency transport

Educator grants for teachers and staff to expand their learning resources 

• Teachers get $100 twice a year to spend as they wish on additional support for their classrooms
• Grants support: in class special activities, community service, supplies for classroom pets, headphones for students who need quiet workspaces, adaptive bike gear
• Staff appreciation events throughout the year

Field trip support 

• In school experiences like the school field days and puppet shows
• Out of school experiences like nature walks, trips to the Ordway, and the 5th grade Camp Widji experience

Outdoor learning support

• Landscaping materials for our new outdoor classroom and support for introducing chickens in the spring 

2023 Fundraising Goal: $15,000 

Seward serves 650 PreK-5 students in South Minneapolis. A gift of about $20 per student will get us to that goal.
