As the popularity of soccer increases so does the need for quality fields for our players. St. Croix Soccer Club is dedicated to providing a premier soccer environment for our players now and in the future. By participating in the Give to the Max program we are looking to open up additional opportunities for practice and game fields for our players.
We have partnered with many organizations throughout the years to provide new and better opportunities for fields. We currently work with the City of Stillwater for indoor facilities for our players and the community by assisting in the cost of Field Turf in the St. Croix Rec Center Dome. We also continue to work with the Belwin Conservancy at the Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Complex (LWB) our home fields since it's completion in 1999. As the current LWB Facility Manager we understand the dedication and effort it takes to provide a quality playing surface for our players. We need to expand our base of quality available practice and game fields throughout the community to keep moving forward as one of the Premier Soccer Clubs in Minnesota.
Current plans are in the works for working with other community groups to provide turf field access for our players. This will greatly assist our teams by giving opportunities for outdoor play later in the season and earlier in the spring. It will also relieve some of the stress on our current home fields during adverse weather conditions. Partnering with other community groups helps to build lasting relationships throughout the community and provides access to quality fields for others as well as St. Croix Soccer Club players and families.
In the future we look to have our own complex of fields to supplement our LWB use. This could be as simple as providing practice space so we can rest the game fields at LWB. Or we could eventually expand this into our own indoor facility, outdoor turf fields, grass fields and community space.
