The aging cooling system and compressors at Riverside Arena are estimated to cost $660,000 to repair.  Unfortunately the City of Moose Lake is unable to pay for this large expense with the unique set up of Moose Lake City property.  Only 30% of the city is on taxable property due to a number of non profits, the school and two state facilities.

The City of Moose Lake has been awarded the Mighty Ducks Grant in the amount of $166,367. In addition, the Moose Lake Water & Light Commission made a motion to transfer an energy rebate, in the amount of $50,000, to the City of Moose Lake from the Conservation Improvement Program (CIP) Fund that is designated for energy efficiency projects in the City. The City of Moose Lake will have a total of $216,376 to contribute to the new cooling system at Riverside Arena.

Moose Lake Area Hockey Association will be utilizing funds from their building fund and is working with a local bank to secure financing in the amount of $300,000  to cover the remaining balance due on the project.

Over 200 youth from the Cromwell, Barnum, Moose Lake, Willow River, East Central and Hinckley-Finlayson school districts call Riverside arena home ice.  During the winter months, our home tournaments bring in over 2,500 visitors to the Moose Lake are to play, eat and stay.  Your support of the arena will ensure that Riverside arena is home to these skaters and these wonderful events for years to come.
