Friends, Family, & Allies of the Work I Am Passionate About,
Please join me in supporting The Link for Give to the Max Day!
I am raising money for my non-profit, The Link, that works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. We serve ages 10-24 across the 7-county Twin Cities Metro area, as youth exit homelessness, sexual exploitation/trafficking, and involvement in unjust systems.
I am proud to work for the The Link which provides housing and critical support services to youth. We work with youth to heal from trauma, reengage with their education, find meaningful employment, build healthy and safe relationships, and so much more. Each year, we serve around 2,000 youth and young families.
For my first two years at The Link, I served as a Case Manager for Dignity House Emergency Shelter. During my time there:
Leo, a real life angel/my baby/dog, often came to work with me and provided animal therapy for my youth:
After being in a safe environment and around supportive people, I watched a young person who was forced to grow up way too fast, feel comfortable enough to act like a kid again:
I celebrated one of my youth's High School Graduation with them in the hospital. This young person graduated high school EARLY after surviving being chronically homeless from the ages of 12-17. This is no small feat and I am beyond proud of them!
The past two years, I've served as The Link's Individual Giving Officer, raising funds and awareness for The Link's life-changing work-as I know firsthand how impactful this work is.
It would mean so much to me if you chose to support the organization I am dedicated to. Any gift, no matter the size, makes an incredible impact on the youth we serve. YOUR donations to The Link on Give to the Max Day help ensure youth across all our programs can access the resources they need and the opportunities they deserve.
With gratitude and love,
Rachel
