The mission of the ICWA Law Center continues – to strengthen, preserve, and reunite American Indian families consistent with the mandates and spirit of the Indian Child Welfare Act. We know that American Indian children and families have been and continue to be disproportionately impacted by the child welfare system and we recognize how traumatic these displacements are for both children and families, as well as the Tribal Nations and communities with whom these families are connected.
The ICWA Law Center stands alongside numerous Tribal Nations, agencies, and other community partners in order to defend protections under the Indian Child Welfare Act for American Indian children and families. Rising against actions which seek to undermine and dismantle ICWA is mightily important to the cause and commitment of our work. With this in mind, the ICWA Law Center hopes to continue to grow in our capacity and commitment to serving and representing American Indian families and providing a holistic delivery of legal services to American Indian families impacted, or at risk of impact, by the child welfare system. As we continue to serve families and assist in larger nationwide efforts to embolden ICWA protections, we humbly ask for your support. Your generous support for our work and agency ensures that we can fully staff our office and continue to serve and uphold the purpose of ICWA by expanding representation for American Indian children and families all across the state of Minnesota. If you have questions regarding how your funds will positively impact our efforts in serving and preserving American Indian family systems, we are happy to share. Your support and assistance is so greatly appreciated.
