A few years back, I was very down and out in terms of my financial situation, and since I've been self employed since 2007, I needed help doing my taxes. A friend told me about Prepare + Prosper, who does tax preparation for low income people. I went to them and sure enough, for no charge to me, a really wonderful volunteer who knew how to prepare taxes for self-employed people, did my taxes for me.

Then I found out that Prepare + Prosper had a Money Mentoring program to teach those of us who have a difficult time managing their money, how to create a budget, how to improve ones credit score and how to effectively save money. I signed up, that was exactly what I needed.

I had such an amazing experience that I then became a volunteer for Prepare + Prosper. I helped one of their staff people develop the Peer Mentor Group that happened in conjunction with the Money Mentor coaching. I became a Peer Group Leader and I became a Money Mentor coach!! Yes, I am a Coaching Geek!!!! I finally learned how to talk about finances and manage my financial life.

I love this organization!!!

They believe in equity and justice and they rally incredible volunteers to provide tax filing services and they run an impressive Money Mentoring and Peer Mentor Groups, all with the intention of teaching and proving a safe space for people to explore financial empowerment. 

My involvement with Prepare + Prosper has changed my life for the better. I finally know how to live within my means. I know how to save money. 

Now it's time to help Prepare + Prosper raise money so they can keep doing the incredible work they do for the world. They are working through this pandemic and they still help so many people. PLEASE HELP THEM!!!
