Dreamland is the anchor project of the 38th Street Thrive Cultural District in Minneapolis. The purpose of a cultural district is to strengthen commercial corridors and adjacent neighborhoods and leverage resources to protect the area’s racial diversity and uplift its cultural identity.

The project features African American ownership, leadership, and entrepreneurship in a space that will be designed by African American architecture firm 4RM+ULA .  The prominent incorporation and celebration of African art, philosophy, and culture will create a truly welcoming space for people of African descent.

Dreamland on 38th honors the area’s history as an African American business district, while embracing its future as a vibrant cultural corridor. Dreamland on 38th is both much-needed economic development and cultural preservation.

At 7,500 square feet, Dreamland 38th will include:

  • flexible supportive workspace for African American entrepreneurs;
  • a dynamic event space for community gatherings; and
  • a business environment that leverages the Cultural Wellness Center’s many cultural, community and business networks to facilitate access to business, social and economic opportunities for African American entrepreneurs.
