There's No Place Like Home

Dusty lost his job due to downsizing, so he and his wife Patricia quickly tightened their budget. Soon afterward, though, the family faced another crisis because of Patricia’s health problems and month-long hospitalization.  They’d saved money over the years, but that quickly vanished with the mounting medical bills. Suddenly, they couldn’t even buy as much food as their kids needed.

Faced with these hardships, Dusty feared the family would become homeless. That’s when he and Patricia turned to PROP. “I thought at least they could help feed my kids,” Dusty says. But he found so much more than food at PROP. The organization’s emergency housing program, powered by money raised during the annual ‘Keep Families in Their Homes for The Holidays Match Challenge Drive,’ helped them stay in their home – and get enough food to stock the fridge. 

Now, thanks to PROP’s program and case management team, the family isn’t worried about the kids going hungry or becoming homeless. Patricia can focus on her healing now – and Dusty found a new job. Finally, the family can have a happy holiday season.
