Pieper Gades Girl Scout Silver Award Project

As a Girl Scout Cadette, I am working on my Silver Award Project, which is the second highest award of the Girl Scouts of the USA. For this project, I plan to create and donate 20 Busy Blankets (20x20 inches), 15 Fidget Boards, and 20 Memory Boxes to the residents at Scandi Haven of Cura Memory Care. These sensory items are designed to provide comfort, engage cognitive function, and enhance the quality of life for individuals living with memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

The total project cost is estimated to be $1,500, depending on the generosity of the community in donating the necessary supplies. If community contributions exceed expectations and reduce the need for additional purchases, I plan to use any remaining funds to build shelves for Scandi Haven. These shelves will provide a dedicated storage space for the donated sensory items, ensuring their organization and accessibility for staff and residents. This contingency plan will enhance the overall impact and sustainability of the project.
