Connecting Neighbors, Growing Our Community

2024 was a big year for the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association and the community of the Wedge! A few memorable projects include:

  1. Social events (annual meeting, happy hour socials, potluck, Trick-or-Treat, and more!)
  2. Monthly environmental litter cleanups
  3. Food share providing FREE groceries to neighbors in need
  4. Uptown Porchfest
  5. Wedge Point Park and Lyndale reconstruction community engagement
  6. And much more!

In 2024, the 11-member board of directors and 180-member volunteer network took on new projects that need YOUR support to thrive in the coming months and years! Here are two key initiatives that need your support today:

  1. Harm reduction initiative, aimed at creating a 24/7 access point for Narcan and harm reduction products in the neighborhood
  2.  We joined forces with the Powderhorn Neighborhood Association in supporting the Renter Support Fund, which offers financial assistance to renters struggling to make rent payments

We hope that these initiatives will improve the lives of the neighbors who call the Wedge home. Our unique neighborhood is one of the most densely-populated in Minneapolis and home to a larger-than-average population of 20-30 year old young professionals who are disproportionately affected by the affordable housing crisis. The neighborhood is walkable, bikeable, and enjoyed by many who frequent businesses along the surrounding business corridors. By working together, the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association seeks to improve the lives of residents and support businesses growing and thriving in the area.

Your donation on Give To the Max Day will go directly toward LHENA programs, general fund, staffing, and the new renter support program in 2025.

We invite you to add a note to your donation mentioning the cause that you most want to support!

We also invite you to consider donating to Homebase (located in the Wedge at 2323 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55405), a new 501(c)3 nonprofit organization offering mutual aid to neighbors in need. Learn more at instagram.com/homebasecentral/ and donate to their supply drive via Venmo.
