Update #5

Update posted 2 years ago

We’re thrilled to announce that People's Center Clinics & Services has been awarded $1 million in federal, congressionally directed funding to finish off our renovation campaign! Thank you to Representative Ilhan Omar, Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar, and our numerous partners for their efforts.

As the trusted healthcare provider for the Cedar-Riverside area, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Minnesota, People’s Center has earned a high rate of patient satisfaction and has built tight ties with the community. With this success, and an ever-expanding community, comes even greater expectations and greater need for and reliance on People’s Center services.

To better serve this growing number of patients, many of them with more complex needs related to their health, People’s Center needs to remodel its Cedar-Riverside Clinic. People’s Center will concentrate its services in a centrally located, state-of-the art clinic, allowing physical health services, dentistry, behavioral health, community gathering space and cultural resources to co-exist in one location. This enhanced clinic space will allow People’s Center to elevate their care model and lower barriers to access for even more community members in need of primary care that takes into account their language, religion, cultural background, community relationships and more.

To create this improved integrated space People’s Center is undertaking a $7.9M capital campaign - The Many Stars Campaign.  The campaign allows for the needed remodeling to People’s Center Cedar-Riverside facility and will enable infrastructure and programming support to assure the development and implementation of new programs and models as they are needed to respond now and in the future.

Significant expansion of women’s health and pediatric services supporting improved care;

  • A walk-in clinic will be created to address urgent needs;
  • A greatly enhanced and desperately needed in the community, will bring state of the art dental care to the Cedar Riverside area that is for the first time;
  • Modifications to the first floor that will enhance cultural responsiveness – culturally appropriate art, a foot washing station, a prayer room, and accessible restrooms;
  • The administrative space on the fourth floor will be remodeled to better support the agency’s staff and improve administrative functions and efficiency
  • A dental clinic, built out of our transformed theater space, including administrative and patient waiting space.
