Opportunities for youth experiencing homelessness

Please consider joining me in supporting young people at The Link for Give to the Max! The Link is a Twin Cities nonprofit organization that supports youth experiencing homelessness, sexual exploitation and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. Each year, we work with nearly 2,000 youth and young families to exit homelessness, heal from trauma, and pursue their individual goals. I am grateful to be part of an amazing team that does the most impactful work with young people in our community. Join me in investing in the safety, stability, and bright futures of Twin Cities youth.

In my unique role, I have the privilege of supporting youth by coordinating classes supporting their transition and healing. As a Youth and Adult led organization, our Youth Advisory Committees suggested topics that include Independent Life Skills, Mental Health Support, Financial Wellness, Career Readiness and more. This is an Agency Wide Initiative to allow youth in all of our 28 programs to attend classes in addition to program specific support.

The picture above is a class where we introduced somatic healing to youth. Our guest somatic practioner shared different techniques youth can practice. The Youth felt nervous at first, but ended up enjoying and feeling lighter by the end of class. 

 We have partnerships with other organizations to offer these classes to youth who may not have had the opportunity to learn about this due to the challenges of experiencing homelessness, sexual exploitation or involvement in the the juvenile justice system.
