🔨 Help Us Build an Inclusive Playground! 🛝 🌳

We are on an exciting mission to build an inclusive playground at Lincoln Elementary School! We have raised over $250,000 so far, however will need $375,000 by November to order the equipment and $550,000 by June 2025 to install the new playground Summer 2025. This playground will ensure all of our students have a fun, safe, and engaging space to play and learn together.

But we need your help to make this dream a reality. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of our students and foster a more inclusive environment for everyone.

Let's come together and create a playground where every child can thrive!

Thank you for your support! 🥰

Sincerely,

The Lincoln Elementary PTO

🤔 What is an Inclusive Playground?

An inclusive playground is designed to provide a fun and safe environment where children of all abilities can play together. These playgrounds include features that accommodate a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive needs, ensuring that every child can participate and enjoy the space. Key elements of an inclusive playground often include:

- Accessible play structures: Ramps, transfer stations, and wide pathways for children using wheelchairs or mobility aids.

- Sensory play elements: Features like textured surfaces and interactive panels that stimulate different senses.

- Ground-level play opportunities: Activities that do not require climbing or elevated platforms, ensuring children of all abilities can engage.

- Adaptive swings and seating: Swings with harnesses and seating options that provide extra support.

- Quiet areas: Spaces where children who may become overwhelmed by sensory input can take a break and relax.

- Engaging for all ages: Play elements that cater to different age groups and developmental stages.

The goal of an inclusive playground is to foster social interaction, encourage physical activity, and support the development of all children, regardless of their abilities.
