Maji Ya Chai Land Sanctuary believes rest, reconnection, and rejuvenation of mind, body and soul in nature is essential for healing and being with our full and true selves.  We are the only nature based organization of its kind on the north shore of Gichigaming (Lake Superior) owned and led by Black, Indigenous and people of color.

*Uni (pronounced oo-nee): The straight wooden poles which make up the roof of a Mongolian Ger (yurt). Uni literally hold up the core of the yurt (pronounced yert).

GOAL: 100 New Monthly Supporters

Become a monthly supporter, join our committed circle of supporters helping Maji ya Chai bring its vision to life by providing opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and communities of color access to nature in the North Shore of MN.

We offer a safe, accessible and welcoming space for the fullness of ourselves to blossom while supported by nature. We are creating and providing opportunities for our community members to rest, connected to nature along the beautiful North Shore of Gichigaming.

A Successful Campaign: The Community Yurt is a Reality!

Last year, with support from the Give to the Max Day contributions received, we were able to purchase and install a 25 person Mongolian designed yurt, pictured below, as our first community space on our 40 acres of land near the North Shore of Gichigaming (Lake Superior).  This year, our goal is to sign up a hundred new monthly contributors to help sustain our work.  Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a hundred uni (roof poles) to hold up a yurt.  Uni are the central support of the Ger (yurt). And as supporters, you are essential to making our work possible.  Donate today in honor of an ancestor or a grandchild yet to come.  We welcome you on this journey!  With deep gratitude for your support.
