Jill's GIVE TO THE MAX Fundraiser for Mentor North

As Mentor North's Executive Director, I collect a lot of favorites over the course of a year.  I especially love hearing about kids who become more comfortable at school, in community spaces, and in their own skin due to the friendship and affirmation of their mentor. 

Through a supported, one-on-one mentoring relationship, a youth can try new activities and develop new skills at the pace that's right for them, with a patient guide who is theirs alone. Also, the presence of at least one caring adult in a child's life is a powerful buffer between a child and the kind of trauma that can leave a lasting mark. 

Our mentors tell us that the experience of mentoring is equally powerful for them -- often much more than they had anticipated. One mentor even said it was "one of the best experiences of her life." 

I am honored to lead an organization that recruits, screens and matches positive, caring adults with youth. Will you please join me in sustaining this important work?
