The DC Indoor Drumline is a proud member of the Minnesota Percussion Association marching arts.  One of the organizations supported by the DC Music Boosters, it is unique in that while it receives District support through provided practice areas and instrument storage, the annual operational budget of $45,000 is completely student funded.

Comprised of 7th-12th graders, some of which have never played an instrument before, DC Drumline has become a family unto themselves where marginalized students are welcomed and input from all is valued.  These hard-working students spend months together, giving up evenings and entire Saturdays to learn music, choreography, and the coordination of putting an entire competitive show together.  Their connection with one another shows in their music and fans love to watch them perform!

Your financial support will help offset two very present and specific needs:

1. Replacement of the Frontline (melodic) instruments.  Many are decades old and sub-par with non-sounding marimba keys and missing sustain pedals, some instruments are held together with duct tape or screwed together with pieces of plywood.  This makes it a challenge to fully engage in the music when instruments won't sound!

They have been presented with the unique opportunity to purchase great quality, gently used instruments from a local World-class drumline at 60% off of the retail value.

2.  Every 3 years, DC Indoor Drumline travels to Dayton, OH to compete nationally through Winter Guard International.  It is a fantastic opportunity to be inspired by the best of the best from around the country as well as compete themselves.  2025 is the year to go!  Our goal is to help each student get to Dayton together, especially those without ability to pay for the trip.

Thank you for your support of the marching arts, music in our communities, and students with talent for now and beyond!
