Operation Trailhead Mission Statement:
Our goal is to raise necessary funds to build a functional year-round facility to bolster the local accessibility of outdoor activity in all seasons. In collaboration with the City of Perham, we aim to create a community-driven space to provide not only traditional Minnesotan ice sports but build a base for people of all ages and abilities in ours and surrounding communities access to Perham’s parks and trails, to provide a safe and healthy activity space and to grow programs that benefit the families of this growing fellowship in need.
The Trailhead Facility:
This amazing addition to our town will be built in Arvig Park next to the sledding hill at the head of the "Brave Like Gabe" trail. A 4,000 square foot building with an outdoor ice rink including lights, a warming area with sled hill viewing, bathrooms, concessions, skate and sled rentals, access to groomed cross-country ski trails and a community gathering space will be funded by private donors and grants and maintained by the City of Perham with Donations from the Perham Area Youth Hockey Association. The potential of this space is not limited to winter activities but promises a unique opportunity for several local organizations and neighboring communities.
Perham, MN is a rapidly growing city with a bustling economy and we need to keep up the amenities we offer to families here and from nearby communities. We believe this new offering will encourage families to come together for something fun and healthy during all seasons, engage visitors with access to new activities, provide a comfortable and safe place to bring children and friends, and act as a bridge to other amenities of Perham Parks and local sports.
We invite you to be a part of this exciting opportunity to create something for the community, by the community, and thank you for your consideration.
Warm Regards,
Catfish Larry and the Lady Pants, PAYHA and the City of Perham
