Many of our elderly neighbors often find themselves isolated and bound inside their home or care center. Many find it physically hard to get outdoors to enjoy the fresh breeze and sunshine. Spending even a short time outdoors can lift their spirit for the day! Add to that seeing your neighborhood and sharing stories with others and it can leave a lasting impression. That is what Cycle Without Age can bring to our elderly in Cannon Falls!
The Cannon Falls Rotary Club is partnering with Dave and MaryJo Myers to bring Cycling Without Age to Cannon Falls, MN area. Cycling Without Age is a World Wide organization with a goal to get our fellow elderly citizens outside and on local bike trails in specially designed 'trishaw' bikes. Trained pilots will ensure that the elderly get out of their care centers and out on the bikes to enjoy the fresh air and the community around them at a slow, safe pace. Nothing beats witnessing the joy of the elderly, pilots and personnel interact on and around the trishaw and seeing the smiles of passengers coming back from their first ride with wind in their hair, rosy cheeks and full of stories.
Our goal is to raise $26,000 to purchase 2 trishaw bikes for the Cannon Falls Area.
