Looking for Champions!

Dear Friends and Family--

I chose this photo for my fundraising page, because this group of young people has impacted me in ways I didn't expect. Pictured above are former Youth Advisory Board members. These amazing young people have volunteered their time to fund raise for myHealth, to give back to their community, and to be an advocate for their friends and classmates at school. They are an exceptional group of young people and leaders. 

Each year, I have the honor of working with a different group of young people and every year I am blown away by their passion, empathy, and power. Whoever said high school students are a headache, haven't met today's young people. They reach out to me when someone discloses to them that they have been sexually assaulted, when they want someone to guide them in healing, and who they can talk to when they need a trusted adult and sound advice. They call me when they are scared after a teenage adventure has gone awry and they text me pictures of their school dances to share their happiness. I have experienced worry for these young people, to a point of tears, but I also experience pride and joy in their accomplishments and growth. 

Working with this group of young people is how I impact and advocate for the youth in my community. However, I can't do it alone. I love working at myHealth. I work side by side with an amazing team of people who do the same thing for young people, every single day. We give them a place to go where they can cry, ask questions, and lean on a friend who wants to make sure they are healthy, happy, and being respected in their relationships.
