Great Tails Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue. We rely on our community members to help us by opening their homes to animals in need through fostering. Animal Rescue is a much needed community service in our area as our stray cat population is overwhelming. We are on our way to building a shelter in Cohasset, MN after being conveyed 5-6 acres of land and now having our building renderings completed. Our next step is fund-raising, a lot of fund-raising. If you would like to know more about Great Tails Animal Rescue check out our website at www.greattailsanimalrescue.com or please contact us by email admin@gtarmn.com or phone 218-398-6191.
What we do:
Harry's before and after. Fritz's before and after. Benny's before and after. These puppies were found on the side of the road and taken to Bemidji Veterinary Hospital where they were treated for mange and stayed for a week. From there they came into foster care with Great Tails Animal Rescue where they have been spoiled for the last 4 weeks by some of our amazing dedicated foster homes. Now they are 12 weeks old and ready for their forever homes.
WARNING! Graphic pics!!
This sweet older Girl was brought into Rescue tonight. She has had a traumatic injury that looks to be several days old. The right side of her mouth and jaw have been lacerated up to her nose, through the inside of her mouth resulting in her cheek ripped, several teeth broken, and gums injured. Unsure of what may have happened, hit by a car, or perhaps attacked by a larger animal. It's badly infected and very painful. As a result she hasn't been able to eat or drink effectively so she was very dehydrated when she came in. Her hair is very dirty and matted so this sweet baby has been trying to survive on her own for a while with her injuries. We gave her fluids, and started her on what antibiotics we had. She did try to eat and drink, so, that was encouraging. She had a slight fever, which was expected, from the infection. This beautiful girl is so sweet, gentle and loving, she didn't protest or fight anything we tried to do for her. Since she is stable, we will be calling the vet in the morning to get her in ASAP. We will update after we hear the Vet's assessment. Hopefully we don't have a broken jaw or infection down into the bone. This could become very costly to fix this baby, IF they can fix it at all. We're calling her Angel as she is so sweet. Prayers appreciated that her injuries can be repaired and any help towards her care would be appreciated.
