Green New Deal Housing is not just building homes. We are training the next generation of home builders.
Goals of Green New Deal Housing's workforce programs:
• Educate effectively about housing, health, and environmental impact.
• Create pathways to education and employment for people experiencing barriers.
• Cultivate passion and participation in green building, renewable energy systems, and sustainable community development.
• Develop a green collar workforce to work in the widespread creation of reliable energy efficient and high performance buildings.
• Transform communities to be more equitable, resilient, and sustainable.
And we need your help!
Green New Deal Housing’s mission is to develop equitable zero energy housing and a green collar workforce in the Arrowhead region of Minnesota. Our vision is a sustainable future for our communities, where access to secure housing, a healthy environment, economic opportunity and dignified work is not restricted by ancestry or zip code.
We build zero energy homes for low income families and provide green construction training focused on women and BIPOC. Adequate shelter is fundamental to health and well-being and contributes enormously to our ability to meet other basic needs and provide for ourselves and our families. Our work directly assists families experiencing housing insecurity, providing pathways to homeownership in healthy, durable, valuable homes with long term affordability. Our work also leads and assists workers, businesses and communities in the transition to green building and clean energy necessary to address both the climate and housing crisis.
This year, for Give to the Max, we are specifically raising funds for the expansion of our Green Workforce Training Program. 100% of the funds raised here will go towards providing classroom and hands-on training in sustainable building and green technology, an industry recognized credential, CPR & OSHA-10 certifications, as well as tools and support services to assist in reducing barriers for participants from systemically marginalized communities.
Housing lasts for generations and skills in the construction trades last a lifetime. When you give to Green New Deal Housing's Equity Fund, your donation will help to fundamentally improve the health and resiliency of communities, and to develop and maintain economic and social opportunity and security with those who are or have been underserved through housing and training.
Please help this (and the next) generation build for the future they deserve.
