Rochester Rowing Club (RRC), founded in 1990, provides rowing programs for Juniors and Adults; competitive and recreational.
Our athletes row on Silver Lake from April to October and train indoors on rowing ergs during the winter. There is no offseason. RRC travels throughout the USA (and even to Canada) to participate in regattas.
The Junior program draws 20-30 students from public and private Rochester area schools (7th through 12th grade). This program is a club team and thus receives no financial support from the Rochester public school system. The Junior and Adult programs are funded entirely through membership fees and donations.
All our equipment is on the older side and is being repaired constantly. RRC maintains a fleet of rowing shells, row ergometers, trailers, motorboats, and a wakeless launch boat. The coach needs the boats to instruct the rowers, provide safety and supervision when rowing, and assistance in an emergency. Please consider donating to help us ensure water safety.
Our teams train hard and, in return, have a history of success throughout the Midwest and nationally. This past May, RRC’s Junior women’s team was co-champions at the Midwest Championship and sent eight rowers, a record number for RRC, to Nationals in Sarasota, Florida. Many of our Junior rowers continue to row in college.
The Adult team continues to grow and achieve new success; the Women’s Quad has consistently placed in the top three the last couple of years.
Check out RRCMN.org for more history, Facebook and Instagram for regular updates, and keep an eye on the local news as we have been there quite a bit recently!
Thank you! We appreciate your support!
