Renewing the Countryside is working for a more just, vibrant, and sustainable countryside.

I joined Renewing the Countryside (RTC) in September, after being pulled towards it's mission of renewal and sustainability. And, as a small town, rural MN girl at my foundation, it pulled on that thread as well.

RTC is a nonprofit working to create and support a more just, vibrant, and sustainable America. RTC does this by championing and supporting rural communities, farmers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, activists and folks who are pursuing sustainable and innovative initiatives, businesses, and projects to renew their countryside.

This mission mixed with the personal pull I had to the work, and meeting the incredible people at RTC, solidified my decision to join the work being done at RTC. After just a few months of being a part of the team, I know I made the right decision.

A few projects and initiatives that RTC does/supports include:

  1. Farmland Access: Along with other partners, RTC assists beginning farmers with their quest for land tenure by pooling resources, identify beginning farmers, providing financial assistance & more
  2. Bringing fresh, local, and healthy foods, along with nutrition education, to kids through Farm to School & Farm to Early Childcare
  3. Supporting Women in Agriculture through hands on programs that builds knowledge, resources, connections and networks of women to enhance communities & food systems

This is just a very small sampling of RTC's work . You can explore even more of their initiatives and projects at renewingthecountryside.org and you can support their work today by donating to RTC for Give to the Max Day 2024! Even a small contribution can have big impact in renewing our countryside.
